Clairvoyance (Seeing Clear)

A few days ago, I witnessed a discussion between friends about the theme of Clairvoyance.  This was, of course a superficial and disinterested discourse between friends during coffee.  One of them spoke about the siddhis (the occult powers developed by yogis as a result of many years of struggles and practice), and claimed to possess this ability.  This was, of course, enough to understand that this person was speaking rubbish.  But it reminded me of an ex-fellow of the group who once asked our mentor what Clairvoyance is.  This opened a discussion which brought a clearer understanding of its possibility.

The word Clairvoyance has the meaning “seeing clearly”.  So, it is a capacity to see what others usually are unable to see.  Obvious, of course!  But there are many persons, especially in the field of the New Age, who claim to have this ability, to be able to see a “parallel reality”.  Indeed, some of them explain that this is a “natural” ability.  But, if it is “natural”, why is it so rare?  This brings me to the only possible answer:  they are (consciously or unconsciously) lying.  That’s all!!

In the last few years, this word “clairvoyant” has been used in dozens of different ways, but essentially a clairvoyant is an individual capable of activating his physical senses, to “see” an immaterial reality.

There are many pages on internet related to this topic, so we’ll reveal here an alternative explanation related to the above mentioned discussion with our mentor.  He brought us to draw the explanation by ourselves, and this was the common answer we achieved beginning from the meaning of the words:  “seeing clearly”:  from this point of view, the higher, deepest and objective form of clairvoyance is the true vision of reality.  The ability to take a look into the world of the so-called “paranormal” field can be an interesting and unique experience, there is no doubt.  And this also demonstrates that the human brain has incredible and not yet explored abilities.  But such ability does not lead necessarily to some greater wisdom or to a better understanding of reality.

A true Clairvoyance could be considered the mind’s enlightenment, or better, the enlightenment of consciousness.  If an individual realizes himself and achieves an objective view of reality, he is also able to “see” clearly beyond the mists of any illusion.

That is all.  This is Clairvoyance as interpreted by me.

Any other kind or form of such ability could be understood as having two sides, as the two sides of the same coin:  one can ease the path to a greater understanding, and the other to the path of a greater illusion.  The so-called “opening” of these hidden faculties without an appropriate human spiritual and inner maturity, is often a cause of sufferings and confusion.  But, of course, there are not absolute rules, even for this topic.

Andrea Dandolo je pisac i istražitelj razvoja svijesti i duhovnosti uključen u razotkrivanje drevnih učenja s ciljem olakšavanja unutarnjeg razvoja ljudskih bića.

  1. andrea, i have been interested in parapsychology for many years, though i myself, have no such gifts…there have been thousands of “scientifically” observed and confirmed phenomenon…though no explanation of how or why it happens…and then, two years ago, i synchronistically “stumbled” upon the theory of the “holographic paradigm”, which to this day (maybe tomorrow i will find something more satisfying to me) i accept to be the best explanation for parapsychological phenoma…in michael talbot’s book “the holographic universe”. it is an exciting model in which to see “parallel realities”, clairvoyance, miraculous healings, even quantum physics…

I read the Talbot’s book…. and I can say that it’s very difficult to draw scientifically some proof or answer to such phenomenon, because science wants material proof, and this field of research can’t provide such kind of proofs. During the nineties, in my group were I met, we have made some experiments to study the possibility of using intentionally extrasensory powers. Some of us had developed something who could be called as telepathy, he can read not the mind but the person (name, surname, attitudes, her job, and many other things), some others had and still have today the possibility of seeing things that ordinary can’t be seen by the others. We have a very restricted possibility of perceiving in the tactile, auditory and visual field (just think about how many colors we can’t recognize). It’s almost obvious that with some specific training one have the possibility to develop some extrasensory abilities and perceive what ordinary can’t be perceived. In many tribes, the shamans are chosen individuals who have these abilities developed “naturally”,unborn. If we can perceive only a determined range of color, then is possible that we can’t see even some objects, and if we don’t see them, then we say that they doesn’t exist- and, this is the scientific point of view. But, if I never seen Indonesia, then, can I say that it doesn’t exist for me? It’s a near Zen thought, but also absurd, isn’t it? That’s the reason why I say that some things can’t be studied using a conventional scientific approach. How many things we can’t perceive? Maybe some forms of life or consciousness who are invisible to our eyes… of course, this is only a supposition, but seen from this point of view, is possible… although proven the contrary.

  2. “alternative realities” of course, cannot be analyzed, confirmed, etc.through the present scientific method .(except perhaps through quantum physics)…which is why the holographic paradigm must replace it… so what if the present scientific approach can’t accept phenomena which can’t be observed, measured, put into a niche and categorized? who cares? and shamans, universally, are not “born” with the ability to “converse” with alternate realities…they are “reborn” into it. it’s interesting that shamans are persons who have usually found their “calling” through a dream, or a “near death experience”. primitive tribes depended on their shamans to connect with the other realities for “information”…where to find meat, when to plant, the auspicious time for war, marriage, etc. if the shaman was not successful, the tribe would become instinct. and there are instances when a person becomes a shaman because of their “marginality” – transvestites, for instance. they are and they are not of “this world”. people with extrasensory abilities – precognition, clairvoyance, esp, remote viewing, etc. don’t necessarily have to be “awakenened” or enlightened. they somehow have entered a “crack” into the other realities…this is why the holographic paradigm makes sense to me. the scientific method is 20th century…it’s time for it to move over, take off the myopic blinders…forget the mindset “i can see it, measure it, quantify it…therefore it exists”. i personally experienced the limitations of the scientific method during my postgrad research in the placebo and nocebo effects…so, it is a sore point for me…i prefer to think that ALL is possible, until it is refuted not to be…by my own determination.
