When we wake up in the morning, usually isn’t a good moment for us. For many people, this moment represents a beginning of a day full of problems and difficulties. So, once get out of bed, they start to identifying themselves with every sort of problems, hurries, worries of what they have to do during this day. More of these persons consider this a normal thing, because our modern life requests such rithm. But, such beginning of a day reflects the slavery of some constrinctions we suffer during not only a day, but all our life. We are not only slaves of the society, but also of a stifling condition we accepted as a sort of “dogma” defined in the following words: to live we must suffer, there is not other way to live our life.
The morning waking up shouldn’t be reduced to just a repetitive habit, it’s a natural ritual, the rebirth to a new life from the “little death” represented by our night sleep, the phoenix who rises from his dust. We should never falling asleep in the evening weighted by the problems and bad situations of the passed day. We should fall asleep with the idea of our wish to live our life as real individuals, with the intent of being, not just “persons“, word intended intended here as his original Latin meaning persona, “mask”- so identified and fragmented beings. Being means also doing, and this means even being able and have the courage of facing and resolving the problems of the following day.
So, when you wake up, in the morning, spend some minutes to settle, centering yourself with some breath keeping in your mind or, as I use to say, in your heart, the intent of being aware, really awakened, not a puppet who lives his day as victim of the flow of the problems and situations. Every night you fall asleep dying to the just passed day, and every morning you wake up reborn: this means thatevery morning- every 24 hours- you have the chance to start a new life and a new way of living….
